9 Minutes Of Funny Animals

A compilation video running for about 9 minutes featuring many funny animals. These silly and funny animals do all kinds of crazy and hilarious things you wouldn’t expect from them, but with so many millions of pets around the world these furry little creatures are bound to come up with some funny antics from time to time.

Strange Animals You Didn’t Know Existed

Well there are literally billions of species on this planet, so it may be no surprise to you that there are probably some strange animals you didn’t know existed.

Red Lipped Batfish

First up is the red lipped batfish, which kind of looks like some sort of cheap hooker. Bright red lips and nostrils, this fish is actually a terrible swimmer and probably uses the red lips to seduce potential predators, perhaps. Totally cute and cuddly!

Umbonia Spinosa

These strange looking creature is related to the Cicada family, and uses its its beak to pierce plant stems and drink the sap. Scientists are still puzzled by this strange creatures appearance.

Humming Bird Hawk Moth

This moth looks alot like a humming bird, and even makes the same kind of sound.

Glaucus Atlanticus – Blue Dragon

This strange looking creature is known as the Glaucus Atlanticus or the Blue dragon. Found in warmer waters, it floats to the top of the water because of its sac of gas located in the stomach.

Mantis Shrimp

The mantis shrimp, also known as sea locusts are one of the most common predators in tropical waters. Not much is known about this creature as they are often elusive and spend most of their time in their burrows hidden away.

Venezuelan Poodle Moth

Not much is yet known about this funny looking creature, it was discovered in Venezuela in 2009.

Indian Purple Frog

Found in India (der..) this strange looking frog has a big fat bloated body and a strange pointed nose or snout. This funny looking frog spends most of its time underground, only leaving for a couple of weeks per year to mate.

This large blue coloured bird looks to me a bit like the extinct dodo bird. This large bird gets it’s name from the shape of its beak, and was only known to western culture in the 19th century.

Sea Pig

Well this is the seapig. A big blob of fat that lives on the bottom of the ocean and sifts through mud to find organic particles. Scotoplanes as they are known, live at depths of around 1000 meters, specifically on the abyssal plain in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean. So cute and cuddly!

The Thorny Dragon

This strange looking lizard has a fake head which it shows off to potential predators, using it as a decoy. I love its amazing thorns and colours, along with the bizarre look of the creature.

The Norwegian Forest Cat

The Norwegian forest cat is a breed known in Europe for centuries although they are only just starting to become popular in the US and abroad. These fantastic looking cats have adapted to cold climates and have a very thick coat of fur indeed. These cats often grow up to 16 pounds for a male cat which is quiet large, or around 9 to 12 pounds for a female Norwegian cat.

The term skogkatt which is the name of this cat on Norway, literally means “Forest cat”

This cats ancestors may include black and white short haired cats imported from great Britain some time around 1000AD, around the time of the vikings. These cats would have bred with local cats and formed into what is today known as the forest cat. The Siberian and the Turkish Angora, long haired cats from Russia and Turkey, are also possible ancestors of the breed.

Norse legends refer to the skogkatt as a “mountain-dwelling fairy cat with an ability to climb sheer rock faces that other cats could not manage.

A strange face, Norwegian Forest cats have a quiet voice but can develop a loud voice if kept in a house with a dog. These cats are usually very friendly, have lots of energy and can be very demanding on your time.

Either way these are some amazing looking cats, just take a look at the pictures below.

Cat Island In Japan

Aoshima Island has been dubbed “Cat Island” by the locals. This tiny 1 mile long island off the coast of Japan is home to more than 140 cute and cuddly little feline friends. While the island only has 16 human inhabitants, 140 cats make this small island their home.

Around 1000 people used to live on this small island, although many have left to find work opportunities on the mainland. But don’t worry, tourists and visitors keep these furry little felines well fed, and believe it or not but this is only one of up to 10 “cat islands” around Japan.

These cats will eat nearly anything, including fish, rice balls, energy bars, chocolate or just about anything. Be careful when its feeding time.. these cats don’t mess around and you might end up getting cat mobbed by the group.

The cats were introduced by local fishermen to help cut down on the mice problem.. although no one expected the cats to multiply so fast. I wonder how many cats will be on this island in 100 years? Perhaps this is the dawn of the rise of the cats..
